TCMSD Covid Holiday Update

Dear Parent(s)/Guardian(s),

As you have probably seen on the news, the case counts of COVID-19 in Sierra County are at an all time high. TorC Municipal Schools is committed to following the best COVID safe practices, and we are following all state, CDC and Dept . of Health guidelines. We are working hard to ensure the health and safety for ALL students and staff, but we need your help!

Please follow all COVID safe practices including:

  • Mask wearing when outside of the home
  • Frequent hand washing and sanitizing
  • Maintaining Social Distancing of at least 6ft away from other people when in public
  • Stay home unless it is absolutely necessary to go out for food, medical care, or essential work
  • If you or anyone at your home is showing any COVID 19 symptoms, it is highly recommended that you get tested for COVID 19 as soon as possible, and can return to school with proof of a negative COVID 19 test result. If you choose not to get tested, you MUST self-isolate at home for no less than 10 days from the start of symptoms.
  • If exposed to COVID 19, you MUST self-quarantine at home for NO LESS than 14 days. Your school will work with you to offer virtual learning during this time period.
  • If your family travels out of the state of New Mexico, you MUST quarantine for no less than 14 days from the date that you return home.
  • If anyone joins your family for a visit from outside the state of New Mexico, you MUST quarantine for no less than 14 days from the date that they leave your home.
  • Please notify your school directly if either of the above situations apply to you / your family. We will work with you to provide virtual learning for your student during the quarantine period. This way we can ensure that your student’s attendance will not be affected, and that we are following the law.

With the holidays coming up, it is more important than ever to follow these guidelines, to keep yourself and your family safe. TorC Schools is committed to following state laws / COVID safe guidelines:

PUBLIC HEALTH ORDER MANDATORY TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS:

We are urging all of our families to follow the MANDATORY state travel restrictions* at all times, but it is particularly important to follow these during and after the Thanksgiving and Christmas Break.

Best wishes for a happy and safe holidays!

Yours in Health,

Lara Clement, RN BSN
